Tackling the Coronavirus
Throughout normal operations, SAVE Volunteering relies on volunteers to ensure the sustainable running of the projects. International volunteers provide both financial assistance to the projects as well as being hands-on and giving valuable assistance with the daily running of the programs. Now, as we face a global pandemic, everyone is bound to their home countries and left simply dreaming of international travel.
At SAVE Volunteering HQ the team has been putting plans in place to ensure that when the time comes, we are safe for volunteers to return.
SAVE Volunteering has used the expertise of a local company, CICS Ltd, to assist us by visiting all of our volunteer accommodation to decontaminate, deep-clean, and use foggers to remove any airborne bacteria. This is a repeat service that SAVE Volunteering will use to make the environments as risk-free as possible for staff and volunteers alike.
Hand sanitation stations have been installed at all doors and a strict 2-meter social distance has been implemented at each property. Each bathroom has been supplied with 70% alcohol sanitiser and is being decontaminated multiple times a day.
All bedrooms have been stripped of their bedding and these have been washed to get rid of all bacteria. The rooms have been decontaminated using a fogger and mattresses have been deep cleaned and vacuumed.
Thanks to CICS Ltd and its thorough, professional service, SAVE Volunteering will be able to ensure complete safety for all staff and volunteers.
